(Hello? Anybody home?)
(AH! PAPERS! SWEET CONVENIENT KNOWLEDGE!)
EXISTENCE RECOVERY TECHNOLOGY for HUIMANITY
Entry:30/12/2*** (the year's been obscured with some kind of muck, GROSS!)
The orbital anomoly we observed almost 15 years ago has escalated towards one of our worst fears. Earth has been knocked off-course entirely, hurtling us into the abyss. This means that the end will arrive much faster that we'd hoped, crushing any chance we had in preserving our species through evacuation. If humanity is to have any hope at all we will have to put our own dreams of the universe aside and consider what can be done from the warmth of our bunkers. I don't know how much time any of us have left, but I refuse to let humanity fade away entirely. Someone must remain to tell our stories.
I regret that we couldn't complete the ships in time. I can already feel the air grow colder ouside.
(Well that doesn't sound good. Poor guy.)
(Perhaps everyone ditched this bunker after the evacuations failed. Maybe they forgot you were here?)
(The rest of the papers in the pile are only half-finished design sketches and personal documents of people you've never met. So you look behind the table for anything else potentially useful.)
